What do you want the end results to be? Can you picture every detail in front of you? Can you experience it as if you’re right there already? Do you see a movie when you close your eyes, in which you see yourself walking through certain rooms, working, etc. and know exactly what you want and where you want it?

Great! That’s a good place to start. Now get it all down paper and figure out how much time everything will take and what the sequence of tasks needs to be. Fit everything in and you’re done planning!

Excellent planners won’t need a notepad, let alone a spreadsheet, to achieve great results when it comes to planning. Still, putting things down on paper and using software to figure out the details can definitely help. It is worth noting that good planners spend a lot of time planning the work before it starts, while people who don’t plan as well don’t spend enough time on it beforehand. The good planners know that the time investment is more than worth it.
